An Analogy

The Royal Path churches are accused of being indecisive, but we are not being indecisive, nor are we refusing to take a stand, nor are we compromising between two extremes.

An analogy might be a green shirt.  Green is a mixture of blue and yellow.  But it is neither blue nor yellow.   It is a whole new color.  Not like a shirt with blue and yellow stripes, but a solid color green.

Another analogy might be water.  It is made of hydrogen and oxygen.   But it is neither hydrogen nor oxygen.  It is a whole new substance.

Analogies are only any good if they are used as an aid to understanding.  Any analogy can be picked apart and used against the very teaching it is meant to explain.  Pharisee-lawyer types can't resist doing it.  So, when Christ tries to teach that a branch cut from the vine will wither, then along comes the Pharisee and says that some of the branches can take root of their own and be transplanted.  This is abuse of the analogy.

These analogies of the green shirt and water are intended to help in understanding that the Royal Path is not a mixture of left and right.  The Royal Path is between left and right AND above left and right.  If you are on the left and you look to the right, you will see the right.  But if you want to see the Royal Path, look UP.  Look up to the Church Triumphant.
